Default Carbor Fiber Car Wrapping Vinyl - Experience???

I have an idea that may, or may not, work well and I wanted to reach out to this community and see if some of you might have experience working with the vinyl 3M 1080 Vinyl car wrap carbon fiber.

I have ordered some of the product in black and in anthracite (gray) color to evaluate and consider.

Not for the body, considering for the upper dash, left dash, and right dash panels...maybe the center console as well. I have a dash panel I can play with, thought I would ask.

Our dash panels are vinyl covered now, seems reasonable that it might work.

What do you guys think?

Best regards,

David

Anybody stripped the vinyl from these parts with success in the past?

David, I wrapped my front spoiler with the 3M Di-Noc carbon fiber vinyl several years ago, and it has held up exceptionally well. I think the interior pieces would look pretty cool in the carbon fiber!

That sure looks good! As for wrapping the dash parts I would think that you would do it over the existing vinyl.

You may want to think about hydro dipping. My buddy tried to do a few things with the wrap and it didn't turn out so good. So he had the stuff hydro dipped. Looks badass, and realistic enough. You really have to look super close to realize it's not real carbon fiber.

Now I am blown away by all the choices. I may have to stick with the black interior and rethink this further. I sure appreciate the options though guys.

This gives me some ideas for the Cobra! Thanks for asking David. It has a carbon fiber dash but the console and other pieces might look cool also.
