Weatherstrip adhesive remover?
I need to remove the weatherstrip adhesive before I install new door w/s and want to make sure I'm using the right product. I thought 3M made it but all I can find is adhesive cleaner, is that the same?

The 3M adhesive remover everyone used for years is GONE.
The new 3M Adhesive Remover is 38984.
The 3M Adhesive Cleaner is 08984.

Tar remover worked for me when i renewed the weather seals, i`m removing any adhesives with it.
Maybe you find one in your garage.
If you check the ingredients you will most likely find the same list as in the stuff that is sold as Adhesive cleaner.
Used it on many different paints and surfaces, never had any damage but the adhesives were gone.

I just looked at my cans and realized that I used both "Adhesive Cleaner" and "Adhesive Remover" (3M) when replacing my weatherstripping.
Neither caused any damage to the original lacquer. Both required repeated applications and lots of patience.
