Default ignition key

1969 corvette L46

I cannot get my key to turn to the "lock" position.... It was working fine until I turned the wheels in order to get access to the caliper bolts .. I turned the wheels straight on as before and still have the problem.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to solve this issue?

Thanks

Hi b,
Have you tried pushing in the clutch, moving the shifter to neutral, and then back into reverse?
This will 'reset' the transmission lock cable lever at the steering column.
Regards,
Alan

Hmmm... transmission and engine are out of the car right now.. so no can do..I guess I'll have to wait until the car is more together before I can hopefully get into lock.... wierd because it was working a few days ago.

Have someone move the linkage for the lock mechanism on the steering column while you turn the key.
This one, lift it up:
