Looks good and sounds tough! Congrats on getting into a C3 and finding a nice one like this under your budget. Please post up plenty of pics once she gets home.
I am no longer in the market for a C3. I have bought a car. It is a black 69 coupe. I got it a few thousand under my budget and the current owner is going to deliver it to me for gas money. He is a real good guy. It is not original, was a green 350 car but is now a black 460 c.i. car. The engine is very strong. I'm not so fond of the 4-speed in it. Seems like it could use some better gearing. Seems that it could work with 2nd and 4th unless you were wanting to do some spirited driving. It definitely needs overdrive. It has power brakes, power windows (passenger side not working correctly), power steering, was an A/C car (but no compressor now). All of the gauges work except the clock. Just had the rear-end completely redone. New gas tank. Modern fuel pump and ignition. The key on the back is used to turn off the fuel pump. There are a few blemishes on the fiberglass but not too bad overall. Frame looks great. The front suspension was done several years ago but still in great shape. The interior at first glance looks good but it really needs some attention. Missing screws and some pieces. It has no visors. The vacuum works but the wiper door needs a little help. The headlights go up and down. A little slow though. I'm going to tackle this first. It has new 3"pipes all the way back. I don't know if that is good or bad according to another thread I was reading. I'll post some pictures when it arrives. ETA Tuesday. Here is a video link of it when the owner was putting it back in the garage. It is a bit shaky..
Do you know what the gearing is in the rear ? The previous owner of my 72 4 speed changed the rear end gearing from 3.36's to 3.90's and it always seemed like it needed another gear so I removed the 3.90's and replaced them with the original 3.36's . The car is now drivable at highway speeds and is more practical.
