I noticed that Hagerty has upgraded their valuation tools and add a couple items I think were long over due. The biggest being value adjustments for certain options.
The following were added for a 1970 Corvette
+$1,800 for close ratio 4-spd.
-8% for auto trans.
+$200 for pwr wndws.
+$2,000 for a/c.
+$1,850 for hard top.
+$900 for custom interior (leather).
+$2,500 for pwr strg.
+$1,500 for tilt/tele strng whl.
Anyhoo.... it's fun to play with on a cold winter day if nothing else.

I tried to do a quote for my 72 Corvette convertible on line with Hagerty with an antique plate on it and there was not even a place on the questions form to state that . All of the questions were about daily drivers . There was not even a place to describe your driving record or how the car is used . The price quote came in higher than my regular insurance. I don't know if I would get a better quote if I call them in the spring so I can talk to someone.
I did the hagerty value on mine. It says $27,200, I don't see that happening the way the current vette market is right now. I watch the early c3's on the big auction sites and it seems the only ones that are bringing any money are the Lt-1's.
Hagerty shows 4 levels of condition to choose from. Click on the levels and read how they describe each one. It goes from DD to concours. Don't forget the adders for important options.

The valuation tools are for use in placing a value on a classic car (what's your car worth). For insurance Hagerty uses agreed value, which means you tell them the value you place on the car and they tell you what that will cost. If the car is totaled or stolen that's what you get. There are a couple more hoops to jump through but that's the basic idea with collector car insurance. If your car is not a daily driver collector car insurance is usually the best way to go.

I am aware of all of this but all of the questions were for daily drivers , not a classic car with antique plates. So naturally the quote is going to come in higher but it actually came in higher than State Farm but no doubt better insurance because State Farm is worthless if you ever need them.

Don't forget to check increase in value from time to time as if you insure for a stated amount and car goes up in value you loose .

looks like hagerty is getting closer and closer to the crazy NADA Figures.. If I could get what hagerty says for my car and my options, then I would sell it today..
