I noticed the thicker leafs on a replacement 7-leaf I got for my '77. The stack was about 5/8" thicker than the original. Had to put in 1/2" longer mount bolts. I did some research and found out that is common across the board because modern spring steel is rolled out in thicker standard thickness than it was in the past. The spring is supposedly engineered to not cause the car to sit higher, regardless.
