I had my right knee done ten months ago. Very painful operation that laid me up for about 8 weeks.
Still not quite back to normal but gets better every week.
Best of luck with the op.

Yer gonna love it ! It'll hurt bad for a while , but gets better every day. MAKE SURE you do ALL the therapy. The place I went to had pretty girls that pushed me hard. I'm glad they did. I got a heavy clutch in my 60 and have no trouble with it.
Set to get new left hip on Jan. 25. Have antique, stone-age artificial hip installed in 1969. They aren't supposed to last this long and mine has gone into rapid self-destruct. '69 op lasted 6-hours. They tell me now it's about 90-mins. and you're up that evening or the next morning! I'm kinda sorta nervous, but will be glad to get rid of two inch buildup on my left shoe. My left shoes look like Elton John DISCO shoes! A nurse told me hip op is easier than knee. Wishing you quick strength, great range of motion and NO PAIN!

Broke my ring finger in the early 90's. Had to go to therapy at the hand center. Young pretty girls that hurt you until tears ran down your cheek. I think a lot of them liked that part! I can't wait.

Best of luck with your Knee replacement. I had my left knee replaced 16 months ago. It's not an easy rehab and it takes time. I beat mine up with years of hockey, football, baseball and running. I'm back skating and doing everything I want to do. Clutches are no problem at all.
Make sure you have a physical therapist that knows what he's doing.
it is a learning experience fo sho...
I had my right knee done about 4 years ago. It does get better, I still can not kneel down. That is fine I just sit on my butt. otherwise it is great. Do the exercise. I was lazy and they invited me back in and had to re-bend my knee... it made wax shoot out of both of my ears!!! do the exercise! I now go to the gym and ride the bike 3 days a week at least. I feel good. You will too. Take the dope and don't be a hero. You will know when it is over. By the way,,,, chicks dig a guy with a cool cane! http://www.fashionablecanes.com
you will be glad you did this.

had both done in 2013. have never had pain after therapy finished since. missed 4 weeks of work each one. keep pain pills close by first few weeks. good luck.
Had my right knee done 5 yrs ago and have never been sorry. Pain at the time, with therapy it left. Therapy is very important. Had my range in a couple of weeks. Used the bending machine very religiously, set it to the max. it would go, it hurt some, but was well worth it. I can bend it as much as I did before, go down on it with no problem. My wife needs one also, but she says she doesn't want to go thru all that pain. I tell her it's like when women have babies-after a short while you don't remember the pain, but all the good you have now! By the way, I had it done when I was 67.
