Thanks for the support myt Corvette brother , It's a long journey and with all the support we will get there!
Thought about doing the 4 tail light thing with relocating the back up lights but think will leave it to the stock 80-82 look. Stayed with the correct cross flags on the fuel door.
Hey I noticed you had it painted at friends shop in my home town? What part of MD you from. I know there is a few shark cars that looked like your before you started in Carroll County

Hampstead MD. Looking to have the 68 and the 79 ready for this Spring. The 68 needs to be done for the show at Corvette's At Carlisle. I've known Mike around 30 years!

You don’t own Milenders Garage do you? My dad who drives for Walsh recognizes the car
You're a few years behind me on some of the exact things I've done on my 79. I stripped mine to bare fiberglass right after i bought it and had it repainted, and I did the heater core 2 winters ago. I found a great step by step instruction thread here and it wasn't hard at all to me, just time consuming, and of course all the "while I'm there's" Looks like you've made some great progress. BTW, I LOOOVE the 4 speed GS!
Going to search out that thread. My core went out a few months ago on my 78 5,900 original mile car due to a bad radiator cap, All the threads I have found so far make it sound like you should just go ahead and do a frame off while you're at it. If you can remember the title or know where it is I would appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.

You will find the aftermarket heater cores do not fit very well because of the bends in the pipes and the shape of the side tanks. Delco OEM fit the best. To find one that fits you need to stick to Delco, Everco, 4 Seasons,or Murry. I'm posting about the brass heater cores.
Looks REALLY nice, I never knew that the bubble window Corvettes had cockpit-style gauge surrounds, that center pod came out beautifully, you'll have to post lots more photos as you go along. What color it that on the lower dash panels? Doeskin perhaps? Looks terrific !

Unfortunately I don't remember exactly, but I'm sure I would have done an advanced search for "heater core replacement" I know I had my phone handy at all times while working so I could pull up the thread while doing the work. I would definitely recommend getting heater box seal kit and replacing all the seals while you've got it out, though.

Thanks! I got some of my house projects out of the way and time to go out the shop and finish this 79 Coupe. The door glass got here a couple weeks ago so time to get with it! I will keep you all posted on my progress! I made some changes to the rear, using a 1980-82 (not fiberglass) rear bumper and reinforcement and relocated the back up light under the bumper, AL

One other Change I will be doing is going with the 2 door rear compartment, just makes more sense. AL Knock sent me a 2 door instead of the 3 door ordered at Full Throttle Corvette and after seeing the 2 door my mind was made up. The cool thing is the carpet was correct because there were two Doe Skin colors out in 1979, light for late and a darker version for early 1979, of course mine was the early version. I will be getting back to work on putting this project together, stay tuned!
