Default Climate control lever question

I'm finishing up my 82 console and I'm putting everything back together. Except I don't know what to put to hold the lever in the climate control together so they won't slip out of this hole with a slot. And what is this plug for?

What goes here to hold the levers together??

This is located right below where the ash tray would go. I have no plugs left to plug into it. What is it and what does it do?!

There is a spring metal clip that holds the levers together. Black with deep indents on both sides to fit in the holes in the levers. You could fix up a bolt and lock washers with a bushing through the levers to replace the clip. I will see if I can find a link to the part. mike..

I do not know what the wiring connects to. I have not found a pic. of the clip.

The terminals on the A/C heater control head are just fort hat...your A/C and blower motor. Nothing will work without these connectors connected (obviously)

And...you will need to remove the small screw you have holding your cable onto this control head...because you will have a REALLY HARD TIME getting the end of this cable caged into the lever with this cable housing secured to the control head.

The wiring harness for your car...if my memory is correct is separate from the main harness....and thus...it may NOT be in your car. I KNOW earlier Corvettes that had both systems (A/C and NON-A/C) had two different types of harness and they came out of the firewall area right behind the right valve cover area.

Have you gotten yourself a wiring diagram or a Factory Service Manual???
