Default Are all window regulators created equal???

I have a 68 coupe with power windows. The car was apart when I got it so I'm wondering if I just order new regulators if I'm going to have fitment issues. The parts catalogs all claim their regulators fit 68-82. I have the original regulators from my car but they need some help. Paragon offers a rebuild service. Not sure what to do here. Does anyone have experience with some of the aftermarket regulators? How did they work for you? Being a 68, will these aftermarkets work? Thanks in advance for the help.

Original parts are usually preferable to reproduction parts. Personally, I would go with rebuilding the originals.

Posting a photo of what you have would be GREAT....I know 1968 has many parts all by itself..and the doors are UNIQUE...and I am having a brain fart and honestly can not remember if the regulators are the same or not...even though I know the tracks are different.

I AGREE with Mike....when in DOUBT..rebuild the origianls UNLESS it has been confirmed that the parts are the same and usable.

I know the aftermarket power window regulators are what they are and I have used them NUMEROUS times. Sometimes it may take a little bit of 'tweaking' to get 'things' the way I want them to be. But I have not yet had one fail to being able to be installed.

Not all reproduction regulators are the same. The imported regulators are not up to the quality of the USA made regulators in my opinion and while the USA made is 20.00 more in price they are well worth the difference.

In my shop I we will only install the USA made regulators because I don't want to do the same job twice. If you do wish to purchase new I've posted the link to them below and they are eligible for the current 15 percent off sale code.

There are other alternatives to buying new which would include installing a full gear, a partial gear to repair the old one. Pivot pins, springs and rollers are also available to repair one at home.
