How about this tire
This was the tire in the spare carrier of my '72 when I purchased it about 11 years ago from the original owner. I wonder when they stopped making this one, cause it shows either being made in 78, 88 or 98 but I suspect it is closer to 78 or 88. Been a while since I have seen GR70. Also enclosed is a pic of the code.... It's bald as a cue ball on one side and good tread on other, and it's really old looking/feeling.
6 ply tire: 2 plys polyester, 4 plys aramid, whatever the devil that is.

I suspect so, something to fill the space. Just received my new tires, Goodrich Radial TA raised white letters. Tires on car now have nearly all their tread, but are quite old (at least 11 yrs), also Goodrich but not RWL. Will save one for the spare I reckon.
