Cracks
I stripped my car and have found a lot of stress cracks through the rear and doors. I've read a lot about spider cracks and having to grind them out and re-glass. With as many cracks as there are, I'm thinking it will take forever to repair them all that way and I'm not sure I can get it all back to the right shape. I sanded one down and the best I can describe it is it appear to go through one 'layer' of fiberglass. I was wondering if anyone has tried to just 'fill' them with resin?? Any other ideas? I've attached some examples. On the rear they are on the deck, both side/corners of the rear pillars, and on the door they are around the handles, locks, and rear view.
Thanks,
Peter
I agree that your pictures appear to show some sort of material still on the fiberglass.
Just what year the body is will have an impact on what the naked fiberglass looks like, (and what should be done to it) when ALL the finishing materials have been removed.

Alan
Has someone sprayed gel coat on this clip.

What year is your Corvette????? This is IMPORTANT. Always wise to add it in all threads you start....just 'saying'.
I am going to assume that you are NOT a 1970 or older. 1971 to 1975 ???
In your FIRST photo you posted. What is that white section that is showing on the bottom left of the photo???? What does that white area appear to be???
ALSO....when you sanded on the body.....I am also going to guess that there is a thin layer or brownish/red material BETWEEN the product that you can see and the 'white' material that you finally get to. Am I correct in there being a layer between the stuff on top and the 'white' material??
