Default power steering, power breaks

On a 68, can you add PS and PB? How about AC?

Yes you can but be aware that too much "power breaks" driveshafts. Sorry, couldn't resist.

RATS, beat me to it.....

As to OP ? yes they all can be added, however, the stock systems are for crap and if you going to spend the $$/time/EFFORT you maybe want to upgrade while you at it.....

The simplest upgrade for steering is the Borgeson upgrade search threads here on it, it's basically a bolt in......

as for power brakes, you really want to add a Hydroboost setup, as it runs off the power steering pump for assist, and as anyone knows vacuum sux, so don't go there....

A/C is more of an issue, you going to have to spend some bux, as the only setup that seems to make sense is Vintage Air/similar aftermarket installs, according to what I read here, I had a stock setup in my '72 but it was upgraded with modern comp. when changing to serp drive but kept the stock condenser and evap/housing but if bother to do all that, upgrade the BLOWER and wheel to a C4 unit, blows much better, so a search here for how.....

best of luck, lotsa projects over the next 20 years.....that's how long I have had my '72 ......

If you really want P/S, P/B, and A/C, it would be easier to sell your car and purchase another with that stuff already installed.

You can brake just as well without P/B; but the pedal effort is much higher.

Power steering is only beneficial when the car is at a dead-stop or moving very slowly. Otherwise, you don't really need it. (But, P/S is an absolute 'must' if you have to parallel park the car very often.)

A/C is not difficult to add, if you go with an aftermarket system. Trying to install a factory system in a non-A/C car would be a complete PITA.

Purchase the 1968 Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM). The AIM shows the factory installation of all the optional equipment available for 68 including diagrams of the installations and a complete list of the original part numbers for everything.

FWIW: the installation of factory air is a very involved process and takes up several pages in the AIM. It's do-able, but it could be a real PITA as 7T1 states.

I added power steering and power brakes to my 68. Not hard at all but also very expensive unless you already have some of the parts.
