What is this tab. Its located aft of the number 1 body mount on the drivers side and welded on. Frame is a 1970.

Hard to tell from that picture but it doesn't look like anything from the factory. Looks like something that someone just tacked on. If you don't see a purpose for it just remove it. I'm working on a 57 Corvette frame right now that had several tabs welded on in various places over the years and have no purpose now.
My car had something similar when I first bought it. We figured it was something someone tacked on when they installed aftermarket side pipes as they were on both sides in about that same location
