Well you either love them or hate them. Custome Vettes. Here's my 73 with my 23 year old behind the wheel. We're enjoying cruising in it during the summer months in Michigan.
454 Big Block - number matching - basically stock
is that a aftermarket intake? if so what kind and how did you get it to fit under the hood? i notice your hoods not stock, is the cowl higher?
This is my 73. I'm the 2nd owner of the car. its basically stock with 23,345 original miles. New front bumper because the original dried out and cracking. matching numbers loaded with options. PS, PW, AC, PB, leather interior and still have original paint. the original tires looked new but I replaced them with new tires.
Thank you jr73
I was hoping to take her out for a ride this weekend but a snow storm is heading in on Sunday. What a bummer the New England area has had a nice snowless and mild winter now we prepping for snow.
John
Numbers matching engine. Paint matches trim tag...although had a repaint.
Still a lot of work to go to get it back to where I want. (Need the A/C reinstalled. I have the original compressor.) I realize the tail pipe tips have been removed. Stuff like that is what I am working on.

It's a bit of a mutt, but I love it anyway. Rebuilt, slightly warmed up 400 small block, TH400, painted an incorrect color for '73. By the way, re: stealth LT1, look on page 416 of your AIM, lower right hand corner, and you will see:
"LS4 V8 engine 454 CID"
"LT1 V8 engine 400 CID"
"L48 V8 engine 350 CID"
Makes me wonder if Chevrolet at some point may have considered making one of the optional Corvette engines in '73 a 400 small block and calling it an LT1. I think it is a great choice for the car. Lots of torque and 200 lbs. less weight.
yeah looking at page 416 in the AIM it does list a 400 CID motor. May have been a miss print because that is the only place I noticed it. On page 288 AIM list all the correct 3 engines available for 73, L48, L82 LS4!

Actually LT1 is mentioned several times in the '73 AIM.
Just bought this 73 LS4 auto in December. Far from perfect, but a nice driver. Been fixing odds & in's through the winter to get it ready for cruising with the top down this summer!

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
