Default Speedo Cable Lubricant

My speedometer is getting a little jittery and I figure it's about time to lubricate it before it breaks and I have to replace it. I know that a few of the corvette parts vendors sell the lubricant, but I can't justify spending $10 in shipping for a $5 part. Are there any other options or should I just wait until I have a larger order already?

Well I guess you could wait to lube it. Mine was jumping and I just replaced the cable, not expensive, wasn't that hard and they come pre-lubed.

I see that they sell the cable in both the org 2 piece cable and a 1 piece cable. what's the best way to go? I need to purchase a new cable for my frame off.. I have been looking at both ways but have not seen any talk about this.

Thanks
Tim

Graphite is my favorite lubricant for speedo and tach cables. Some like white lithium, but greasy lubricants have a tendency to get gummy over time and cause problems.
