"Rusty looking master cylinder"... I don't know about you guys, but I installed a new master cylinder in my '74 back in 2008 or so, and it looked "rusty" within about a month. Just the natural result raw metal and the east coast summer air.
I'm glad the guy made it. I've occasionally debated whether I'd stand a better chance of survival if I train myself to duck when an accident is imminent.

With the parts scattered and lack of tire marks it looks like he rolled it. Maybe he was thrown from it or was pushed into the passenger seat. I do hope he survived in one piece

Rollover accidents at speed will strip a car. As for the body coming off, rotten body mounts wont help and fiberglass wont hold up either. Rubber motor mounts will come apart from horsepower and popping the clutch, so centrifugal forces can easily pull a motor apart from the chasis.
