What is this?
I believe that's a switch that's part of the alarm switch mechanism that mounts in the fender. It's called the anti-tamper switch. The part of the switch that mounts it is broken off. It's plastic so is pretty fragile.
I believe it's the same switch as used in the headlight mechanisms to signal that the doors are fully open.

If you are planning on re-installing it....there is another special part that goes with this switch to make sure you index it correctly...and also a special washer that grips onto the fiberglass so it can not move when tightened/adjusted.
Just the other day..I installed one...and I can tell you they are NOT any fun doing it by yourself.
