Bats. I said this car wasn't my cup of tea and I have no reason to defend it in the slightest.
The interest in this car is from a serious car nut that works for me. He's currently having a frame on resto on a 59 caddy but he enjoys the hunt for cars more than the car itself and he's always looking for the next 'hunt'. He does have a good eye but he came to me through my passion for Corvettes.
I respect your opinion and have expressed that to Dean along with other information and opinions expressed but it's his choice at the end of the day to take the info on board or not.
Cheers,
Stuart
The interior looks great sadly the radio update hacked the dash, but this isn't an original car anyway,
I would just think that if a cat has 50K burning a hole in his pocket and that cat isnt all in love with this car and admittedly likes the hunt better which means to me he has a huge warehouse full of cars or flips a lot of cars he gets bored with either way a 68-72 would be better "investment" geez, did I go there? investment value means zero to me, and it sounds like your friend can afford every c3 in England if he desired, so lots of my babble is moot.

Not the case Bats. He will sell the Caddy to get the 'next' one and carry on with his hunting. He's looking at this because it's different, nothing more, nothing less.

Okay a regular old joe,
Going by the pictures you posted it appears to be at a motor car place, I do not know how it works over there but here the places that have the big places selling nice looking c3's normally having double, triple even higher prices than the same car gets on craigslist , ebay etc....
If I were to assume prices in the UK for US cars is similar to Aus (and we do have similar or higher costs for importing, tax, etc, leading to our prices for US cars being dramatically higher than US prices), then ~$50k US would be ~$70k AU here at the moment. Looks like a very nice car, and with the cool period modifications I wouldn't be surprised to see a dealer advertise a car like that here in Aus for $40k, possible even $50k AU (though I don't know that the selling price would be terribly close to advertised). Even $50k AU though is about $35k US at the current exchange rate, so... Seems awfully expensive to me. I do think it's kinda cool though.

Not to high jack but MH what's that Aussie C3-ish re body, they used one in fury road....
That'd be the Perentti... Aussie kit car built on Holden (GMs Australian division) chassis. The proportions/dimensions are pretty off on them, particularly around the rear... Similar problem to the c2/c4 in that other thread, the wheelbase is just wrong to accommodate the body style.
Not too bad from here:
But looks a bit odd from this angle!:
In my opinion, the proportions would probably have looked better with longer doors, ala Datsun 240/260/280Z 2+2, so that it didn't have that hugely long tail. It did have a boot unlike the Vette...

Okay after this I promise no more high jack of this thread....
That the one I was thinking of, I had no idea it was built on a Lorry
I don't hate it but learned with my interest in kit cars that has been as long as vettes that somethings look great in pix and gross in person the Fiberfab Aztec 7 is one, horrible in person,
I was a huge GT-40 fan the old original , when ford did the street version MK 3 if was made longer in the rear to have a boot, the car mags of the day shredded it...but I kind of liked the look and that is what the Perentti look is to me in the shot from the rear, ( cant find a good pic of the gt ) but....how does the Perentti really look in person?
Cost?
Have any idea if any are in the usa?
Perhaps reply to the13bats@aol.com as I feel bad about the thread highjack....
Not trying to continue the highjack....but I'd like to see a Perentti in person.
Me too...I could find a donor over here for the body,
I always loved the shala vette dune buggy by dick dean,
People trash the ones in death race 2000 trim but I would love one to hop over to the beach in
