68 rear light wiring harness
It unplugs right behind the kick panel and the hardest part is getting the heavy grommet in place at the rear of the car.

The interior needs to come apart a bit to get the old harness out and the new one in.
The kick panel, the sill plate, and the quarter trim. The floor carpet and the rear wheel well carpet need to be lifted a little but not removed.
The glove box light is part of the rear harness so the piece of carpet on the bulkhead behind the seats needs to be lifted too.
The ground connections for each rear lamp is on the lamp housing mounting studs. You need to be careful you don't twist the stud off when loosening the nuts.
All the connectors, clips and screws/nuts need to be handled gently since they're likely elderly.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
The question from Easy Mike - the reason I am looking into replacing the rear harness is that I am blowing brake switches. So I'm thinking I have a bad wire somewhere along the line.

I am hesitant to buy the rear lamp harness if that is not where the problem is. Could I have now blown the turn signal switch?

I know this tread is a bit older, but I have replaced the rear wiring harness and am having an issue with the brake lights not working.
I took the old one out because it was really deteriorating, wires were just falling apart.
The nuts on all my rear lights were so rusted that almost all of them broke off, I welded new bolts to it.
Now for my problem, both indicator lights work amazingly, all of the bulbs work fine, and i connected everything like you did.
The first picture you have here shows the ground to frame right, but what is that copper strap? I did it exactly the same, cleaned the area really well and still no brake lights.
I don't know how to test if the power flows to it, I do have one of those electric test thingys but don't know which mode to put it on.
I bought my harness from Zip Corvette, the brand is Lectric Limited.
thanks in advance.
Lectric Limited makes the best wiring harnesses. Do you have some place that you could take it to check out the no brake light problem? Lou.

All of them. And they are the only brand I will install in my shop.
