Can someone tell me how many and where the clips go for holding on the horizontal windshield revel moulding to the windshield header? The AIM does not show this in detail. Thanks!
AND..in most cases these clips are screwed to the metal frame...but there are some years that actually slide under the lip of the wide stainless trim at the very top of your windshield.
Hi JL,
I'm thinking that DUB is right…. 9 clips.
You need to be careful installing them; they can be installed backwards, and if the screw head is the wrong shape or too large, it can prevent the ss trim from slipping into place in the clips.
Regards,
Alan
It is a '77, that would have been good to mention. I do remember which way the clips came off, so that helps. I marked the inside of the T shaped trim where the clips came out, but wasn't sure about the ones on the ends by the windshield header corner moulding. On each end there are two screws near there that that get screwed into the header and two that get screwed into windshield header corner through the slotted holes in the header. Thanks guys!
Looking at the AIM I think I have it figured out and it looks like my car takes 10 clips. There are 2 on each end into the round screw holes and the slotted screw holes are for the windshield header corner moulding. There are 6 clips along the header between those 2 and I will have to find the holes. It took referencing a couple page back and forth to figure it out. Thanks Dub and Alan!
