Default TKO 600 Kits

Read threads of you guys installing TKO 600s in C3s and have a thread in the C2 forum. But would appreciate any feedback on TKO kit providers.

Ready to order a 600 kit for our '66 L72. Got quotes and all competitive in price and warranty. Leaning SST but would like input from customers. All use the same TKO guts so it comes down to the shifter design, kit components, and company integrity. No intention of racing, just occasional spirited runs. Appreciate any feedback. Thx

Got mine from Hurst Drivelines with their modded tail shaft and side winder shifter. My experience with them was outstanding. Conway amateur lines bounce the fist kit around and broke it. Hurst without blinking immediately assembled a new kit and sent it express while they dealt with the morons at Conway. Top notch service there. Tech support was also great they helped out with yoke and drive shaft geometry and made the whole job smooth....This was 2014...I imagine they are still as good.

I just put a TKO600 in my '81, ls3 conversion. I went through Silver Sport and bought one of their complete kits. They were incredible to deal with. Helpful and supportive through the entire process.

I bought the box here in Aus, so didn't have a corvette specific shifter (made it a lot cheaper for me than ordering it from the US and getting slugged for shipping and import duties), but I ordered the Corvette specific parts (shifter handle, crossmember bracket, console pattern plate etc) through Hurst, found them good to deal with (though reasonably expensive for the overseas shipping) and everything they sold me was very nicely made and fitted/worked great. Without the Corvette specific shifter I had to open the hole in the floor and seal it with a larger aftermarket rubber boot, then cut and weld an offset in the shifter to put it in the stock location. But it functions perfectly and looks identical with the console fitted, and was not much effort to save a large amount of money. Of course those savings might be quite reduced if living in the US, a big part of it was not having to pay shipping and import taxes on the gearbox.

Sorry, I can't offer any experience on the kit yet but I'm leaning toward purchasing one from SST for my 68. Just received quote today after contacting them about the group buy offer in the attached link.
