I was parked at the curb one day with T Tops off waiting for my wife to come out of a store. A little lady in her 80's was walking down the side walk and stopped looked at the car and leaned into the passenger side window and said " Boy, I bet that sucker is fast" Really took me by surprise.

My favorite comment came from a young boy (probably 9 or 10) at a recent cruise-in. I was parked in a row containing several C5, C6 and C7 Vettes when I noticed this boy kept going around my '70 LS-5 observing every small detail. Finally he brought his dad over and pointed to the engine and 4-speed before saying "Dad, that is BADASS". I still chuckle every time I remember that night!

People ask me if my '71 is a Stingray......owned it for over 40 years and I've never called it a Stingray. I don't even think about it unless I'm washing or waxing the car and the Stingray emblems are there.

Not sure if this was a comment or not..but most unusual acknowlement reaction we have yet to get while driving our '78 Silver Anniversay vette was on the Interstate in Portland..

Mid afternoon..Sun shining..Cruising along merrily with windows down and t tops off at a modest 65 mph..Car sounding and looking great..

Saw several motorcycles coming up fast in the left lane..The lead rider, all leathered up came abreast of us....gave us a quick salute....
and then popped a wheel stand that took him another 1/4 mile before setting the racebike down...Had to be going over 90 on one wheel..!

They promptly ducked off the interstate at the next exit..but it was pretty startling for us anyhow..Subtle reminder that there's stuff out there with far more HP than America's 1978 Corvettes..but that's OK..Jim

You can't be serious. Go listen to it again.

I was just to say this. He clearly says "little red Corvette" repeatedly and if you look up the lyrics it's in the chorus, not just the title.

Two kids around 9 years old were walking past my house. The Corvette was backed into the garage with the headlights up-----easy to see.
One boys calls out...."HEY MISTER------DOES IT TALK?"
I said "Not yet....I'm still working on it!"

(My wife explained to me that the "Cars talked to each other in the animated movie )

Here's the chorus as written and performed by Prince:

Little red Corvette
Baby you're much too fast
Little red Corvette
You need a love that's gonna last

Getting ready to leave a cruise in last friday and had the. Ar idling waiting for the pedestrians to clear as I pulled the headlight ****. A mom and her young boy maybe 5 to 8 years old just off the drivers bumper hear the lights snap up. The mom points to them and the kid looks over and smiles so I shut them off and down they go. The kid looked like he saw his first free snickers bar. I pulled the switch again and they snap up. The kid gets this huge smile and gives me the thumbs up and disappears into the crowd. Im still waiting and look again and heres the same kid with his teenage brother pointing at the lights. I do the same ritual and the teenager nods and gives the ya thats cool look to his little brother. That was fun

Then last night me and a buddy are cruising out to western Mass and we pass a state trooper doing his thing waiting for speeders. I look over at the twenty something year old and his mouths open and following my car as we drive by. I guess he never saw a 68 before.

I have a 1980 and a 1960. Had a guy walk the the 60 at a show and rap his knuckles on the fender look at me and declare "oh, this is a replica with a fiberglass body" I replied that all corvettes were fiberglass, he got in a huff and said "only the modern ones, the early ones were steel, stop trying to pass this off as something it's not!"

I just laughed and laughed.

It shocks me that in this day in age with smartphones that idiots still stick by their guns even if Google says their wrong.

I was working on my 70 in the driveway and the 6 year old neighbor girl walks over and begins circling my car and looking at it. She finally commented "Hey mister, someone stole your mirror", while pointing at the passenger side door.

At a cruise nite had someone say to me. " bet you don't know how to turn on the bright lights". Really it's my car, how would I not know this. They insisted that I wouldn't know and told me its on the floor.

The kids across the street(4th-5th graders) at the "private" school- were yelling "Hey man- Nice Ferrari!!!" when I had my red 73 in the driveway.
