unusual comments on your C3
But I did show him the space behind the seats and he seemed satisfied.

the weirdest comment I've received so far was from an older gentleman at the gas station. He says that a corvette in michigan is pointless because of the fiberglass and that I should've bought a mustang because it can drive in the winter. i just said nicely"that's what my blazer is for"
BTW if you told me a few years ago that I'd be pondering the possibility of getting golf clubs into the back of my corvette, I wouldn't believe you.

My '72 vert is an old show car from when it was new, owned by a series of two chicks in Southern Md, outside DC.....the car has had many paint jobs....factory white with Dark Saddle interior....it was a wonderful Ditzler burgundy when I got it....but the move to Florida and the accidents and so forth, NONE of which was my fault BTW.....I get comments from all age groups....'what year is that?'...mainly because of the rectangular '68 OLDS tail lights from the show car daze, and the fender flares have the skirts and look like from a late shark, which is why the wider '89 vette wheels/50 series tires look 'right' on the car....
SO I grin and say, 'What year do you LIKE?' which flatfoots them ALL, then I laugh and say the car has CORVETTE parts on it from '65 through '94, but it was BORN in '72.....
There is nothing stock about my car, stem to stern, wheels through roof, NOTHING....see sites for a few pix.....
and just last Feb some jerk ran over the car with a jacked up pickup in a parking lot...missing the bumper entirely but smashing hell outta the front end.....it took 3 months to find a decent glass man and get it shot again so the paint is all the same....PIA......
Every time I go out with the car, I get comments...and questions....
IF they seem to know anything about cars, I will pop the hood, and from the sites you see an LT1 injection with an HEI up top in back like GOD intended.....

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Was waiting on the side of the road in a country town for my wife who was looking at shops when I bike rider walked up with his partner and said "That's not a car. That's a work of art.".
Second comment was when I parked my Corvette outside a Auto themed diner and walked past this family group eating their burgers on the outside booths. The father says to me with an envious look on his face "I hope you don't mind but I really hate you.". I replied that if he owned the Corvette instead of me I would hate him as well. Then we talked corvettes for awhile.
That's one thing I have found since owning my Corvette. You get a lot of strangers wanting to talk to you.
Really? You stopped me in a public parking lot to let me know that you never like my year vette when you had to ask what year it was?????????
They live among us!!
She kept saying "The nose of your car is too long." "How can you even see over the hood." And so on.
And then she asked me what kind of car it was.
"It's a Corvette" I said.
"NO WAY!" she replied, and added, "I just bought a Corvette myself!"
She drove a C4 which—as everyone knows—have such short hoods.

I don't have the luggage carrier on the back deck, which the comment might have made some sense if that was the case. The storage compartment was empty soo...
The guy kept on walking, the judge had a WTF look on her face and we just shook heads and laughed.
*after winter is winding down* Hey, get that vette out there and blow the salt off the roads for me, glass don't rust ya know.
Everyone wants to take a picture.. not even of them in it or near it, just can I take a picture of your car.
had someone walk up to me and ask why my vette didn't get put in the garage last night but I put it up the next morning. Now mind you, my car was in my backyard where I was washing it, not up front outside of the garage. I simply told him none of his business and to keep walking. Figured, I just didn't want to be buddies with that one.
Kids asking to get in it
Had a cop pull into a parking lot after me just to BS about the car. Super nice guy, made sure I wasn't in a hurry or that he was keeping me from anything to chit chat with him. Local guy, waves to me each time I pass him now.
Why did you make your hood open backwards.
#1 question - How much power you got in that thing. Oh poor L48.... she sounds great but the bark is much worse than the bite.
I have two friends, brothers named Steve and Charles. We are all in our late 40s. Steve, older brother, has an '82, black Crossfire L82, doesn't run. Charles, 46 years old, has a silver '78, does run. He said his dad had a black '74 just like mine. Didn't make 'em black in '74, oh well it was 40 years ago, maybe repainted. Said it would pull the front wheels. I have never doubted anything more in my life. His dad, about 70 years old, saw my 'Vette one day and confirmed he did have one just like it. Did it pull the front wheels? I said he definitely did NOT remember that!

I rec'd some gratifying comments when I took my restored-freshly painted & '78SA vette back to the original dealer 100 miles south of us in Junction City Oregon.."Guaranty Chevrolet".
Gave them copies of the original factory invoice, window sticker..and some good 8x10 glossy pics of the car as it now is..
Dealership still owned by the original family But only two old timers still there in Service dept.
Funnest comment was concerning the window sticker.Hard to believe the car asking price was under 10K.....Jim
OOPS I guess I was not the first person to catch this. Not QUITE as embarrassed now.
