I expect everyone has had comments from perfect strangers on their car..... usually "nice car", "nice ride", etc. What is the most unusual comment you have had? Mine was from an older woman who had just spent five minutes going back and forth to get her SUV in a parking space near where I had parked my Rally Red 68 BB convert. As I walked by she said "Nice little car. Too bad they didn't have more orange paint". It took me a while to figure out that she must have been a little color blind and thought the car was orange. Plus- I never heard anyone call a Vette "little".
81 wide body got batmobile a lot, 66 ( modded ) got cool...what is it?
when I got the 69 it had a 73-79 front clip a fellow with a 73 coupe asked "are you really parking that next to my real 73"
I was asked a lot in traffic was the 69 a 73 which I find odd that many people were that vette savvy.
the other day an older fellow asked is that an old corvette racer,
And right here on this forum I have had my 69 called "parts car" and "pos"
Guy came by my 72 and said, "I had a 72, A lot of people don't know that GM or Chevrolet didn't make them that year. They contracted them out to another company in 72."

yep...heard those types and the cats who had/have one or a relative or family member did /does it was just like the one they are looking at except theirs was faster, better more rare.
Oh the comments I get about a crossfire...from "that's the worst engine GM ever made"...(um thanks but I'm standing right here and it's actually pretty awesome if you don't try to make it something it's not!) to "that's a neat twin four barrel carburetor setup you've got right there"...
My favorite comment, hanging out with a group from our club - Vets with Vettes - was from the lady who thought it was neat that we were all veterinarians....can't make this stuff up!
1) what year is it? My 72 has been called 69 most of the time.
2) my Dad, uncle, brother, whoever, used to own one. I'm convinced, 80% of the male population of this country has owned a C3.
I had some stoner chick rip my car to shreds bit by bit on minor details like a paint chip and then she told me that she hoped I wasn't going to show it. Bi***.
Oh yeah, then I was using the wrong soap and the wrong wax. And how awesome her dad's Mustang was. Puke.
I don't understand or appreciate people with this mentality/attitude. We both like cars, let's just leave it at that and be friends.

See I get tripped up on this. My '79 isn't technically a stingray but when I say I have a '79, a common question is if its the stingray vette. It's a good conversation starter, because my answer is yes, but....
"Little Red Corvette"
A song by Prince. Millions of people have heard the corvette called little.
You're correct, except regardless of how many times you listen to that song, the only place the word "little" is found is on the printed title on the record/tape/CD cover. Most people think the song is "Lady in the Red Corvette". I still don't think a pavement-eating big block is little.
When you drive an older, unusual car there are always weird comments. You should hear the stuff when I drive my 93 twin turbo RX-7. "How much oil do you have to mix with the gas?", " "Does that have a V6?", or most often "What is that?" Plus....everyone wants to race. Usually bad news for them. 422 rwhp in a 2450 lb car with a 4.10 rear axle.
