Default Headlight assembly

Can you install the full headlight assembly without pulling the front of the car apart .Found out its easy to get out all you have to do is hit a deer at 35 mph .

And YES and NO...it depends on how much you want to take off so you can install it all as one unit.

AS I wrote...it can go in as a complete assembly but you will have to remove A LOT.

If your car were in my shop....I would install it in sub-assemblies.

I assume you mean without scratching the paint ...
it is much easier to pull front grills, and center bumper support.
if you have A/C condenser NO, I could not get them in place, from the top.
after removing condenser I had enough room to work them in place, leave your light bulbs and front painted covers off, install them after the assemble is in place.

69Vett: There's a heckuva lot more in the way on a 76 than there is on a bumper car.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT....He is wrong.....you can get to them....they are not easy....and I am sure he is referring to the 2 bolts in the very front that hold the actuator support to the metal retainer that your bumper cover also used to hold it and reinforce the edge of the top hood surround at the front.

YES...the impact bar assembly can make it so these 2 bolts may not want to come out...but they do not have to....all they have to do is be loosened so the front of your actuator support can be removed off of them by pushing up on the actuator support WHILE unthreading these bolts. I do it that way...and it save me time....so I do not have to do a 'front end- ectomy'.

I some case I have the bolts break..and then it is only me getting in there and slightly prying up so I can slide a new bolt in. for me...no big deal.

With headlight bezel off and the front park grille out...you can see and figure out how to do this.

ALL of the other bolts CAN be accessed.

The Allen head socket set screws that are on the pivots WILL need to be loosened so the collars can slide so the headlight door can be removed.
