Hey Mark-

What are you doing here(C3 forum)???

Help? A base motor manual trans car... looks legit...but I'm not an expert.

Is that the red one for sale on Craigslist?

negatives: blurry pic, paint on the pad
positives: old patina, broach marks on the pad, looks correct font and spacing, looks to be a good example of factory stamping. dates line up too. low probability of fraud on a base engine 71.

Both stamps look okay to me. Keep in mind the C11 in the VIN derivative is 71 only. Engine date and consecutive unit numbers are good for a December build car.

From the pics - small so it's hard to tell- No pics of the underside...

Ad doesn't say much about the paint/body condition- or rust- but just pitches the "matching numbers." Interior looks OK- driver's seat looks a little worn. Pricing is-I think- a little high.

When you check it out- get some good pics and us C3 guys will be glad to help you evaluate it.

Hi VR,
To my eye looks quite similar to this mid-January pad.
Regards.

Nice car but over priced. The inside passenger inside wheel well has dropped. Radiator support has patches on both side with ok repairs. Its a nice driver , 21k will be a buy just a little high on asking.

It's slowly moving along...decided to do a totally custom interior and that's thrown me for a loop!!!

Yep- for that kind of money - I'd pass.
