My helpers are starting the paint and body on my car today. I am not concerned with "correct" paint colors as the car will have subtle body mods. I just want the brightest, most eye popping red I can get. I had a truck my uncle painted for me about 25-30 years ago. I picked "Torch Red", I believe that was a Corvette color. I really liked it. Is there any color that is brighter?
You can't go wrong with Torch Red. It's very bright and the other benefits are that it's a real Corvette color and because it is in wide spread use, easier to reproduce and color match should your car ever need a paint repair. Avoid custom or "one-time" colors if you possibly can.
From what I remember, the Torch Red was so bright it was almost orange. Are there different numbers for Torch Red? In case I need to do repairs later. I'm doing single stage, over black(which is all coming off). '74 coupe, wonder if a gallon will be enough?
I had a '70 Nova painted 78 vette red (code 72) and it was very bright, (again pushing towards orange). When I parked at shows near a darker (cherry type) red car theirs would almost look brown in comparison.

I just passed a 2013 Camaro on a lot in Victory Red. To me it really stood out, not too dark, not too orange just a really RED. I'm thinking of using it on my 78 when I get to that point.
Like you, I wanted the most attention grabbing, neck breaker shade of red. After considering Torch, Viper, Porsche Guards, Pinup, I decided to go with Flame Red, it looked to be the purest, most vivid bright red, without too much yellow or blue pigment. Now that it's done, I cant recommend it enough, every time it's outside the color stuns me how vivid the red looks in the sun or even the shade. The brand I used was Kirker.
The pictures make it look darker than it is, but they are pretty close.

I'm a big fan of Torch Ref and will probably do that to my original Mille Muglia Red car when its time to repaint, but I must say, that Flame red looks great.
around 1980 I shot a Camaro with a Ferrari red that was down right painful especially under parking lot lights at a cruise,
it was the brightest popping red I ever saw, I am not a huge fan of red and have seen many red cars that were not as bright I actually liked better.
I've never seen guards red look that orange. I've had a few cars and a truck shot with it. I'd call it more of a medium Red, but if you go too bright you lose depth. Its a great color.
