Default 72 frame/undercarriage evaluation

I'm still looking and found another prospect. I would appreciate some feedback from those that have been down this road. This is a Florida car undercarriage.

Does the surface rust worry anyone? I don't have the experience to tell if this is good for a 72 or not. I understand that photos can only tell so much.

Thanks in advance.

Hi 410,
The chassis and running gear appear to have a nice even cruddy look to them.
The frame looks to be solid.
Many of the steering and suspension parts appear to have been untouched for years. (I see sleeved calipers and maybe 2 (?) replaced shocks.) The transmission tunnel foil insulation blanket appears to be missing which is odd for what appears to be quite an untouched car.
So, appears to me to be a car worth looking at more closely!
Regards,
Alan

This picture shows what appears to be an original part # tag on the sway bar. These are quite rarely seen.
This indicates there "might" be some more interesting original assembly details to take note of on this car.

I'd say look for scale. If the rust is just surface, no scale or chunks, it may be OK. Look at the keyholes on the bottom of the frame near the rear wheel, see if they're crisp, get an idea of how thick/thin the metal is.

Nothing I see is 'earth shattering' but in the 9th photo...the left lower A-arm is rusted rather badly on the front half of it and the lower plate that the A-arm sits in ...that is welded to the frame cradle area is rusty.

This would not be a 'deal breaker' by no means...but would raise concern if I was getting the frame blasted and coated and I would want to see how bad the steel was in that area of the frame. Replacing the A-arms is not that big of a deal if they are rusted so badly to the point where concern of metal integrity is in question.
