Default Rear mounting bush and bracket

First, thanks to the members who helped with the wiring problems on my 1973 corvette, it is now sorted and the lights are UK legal now.
My next problem is the rear body mount and a badly warn trailing arm bush. The body mount bracket appears to riveted to the body, is this right and if so how do I replace it ? the bolt through the mounting bush is really tight, I`ve squirted WD 40 over it hoping to break it free.
Also it looks like the body it fastens too is crushed ! Anyone got any ideas . Many thanks . Mike

#4 Body mount replacement is a fairly common thing. Here's a quick search result on the forum

I guess it really depends if it's the metal bucket on the body or the bracket welded to the frame.. or both

Thanks M. The bracket on the frame looks OK. Looks like it`s not going to be a quick fix

I had to replace one of mine a while back and trimmed the new bucket flange on the inside so I could slide it in without having to separate the body/frame.

Bits of the post are still left https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...oval-tool.html

Thanks again M. Thanks to the link you gave me I have found where the nut can be got at on the inside so hopefully I can get it undone. Then I propose to repair and strengthen the bottom section of the bucket from the inside the car before fitting the new bits as you have said you did yours. Then the other side.
Cheers. Mike

Instead of WD 40, I would use a mix of acetone and ATF (automatic transmission fluid). Apply it liberally to the nut and bolt side of the mount for a few days. Good luck. Jerry
