I took off the striker bolt and closed it and it acted the same way, then i tried it without the guide pin receiver, and still nothing, it still sits a little higher maybe an 1/8 of an inch and just seems like it can't close any further.

The car does lean to the driver side a touch but you have to be down at eye level with the nose of the car to tell.
Okay..now we are getting somewhere...but I am TOTALLY CONFUSED...

You are saying the door is higher than the quarter panel...BUT in POST #7...the third photo shows the top edge of the door is basically level with the quarter. This is where I am confused.

The KEY thing here is that you HAVE TO get the door to be flush at the top where it meets with the quarter panel.

So if no striker is in..and the guide is removed...you have to get this right first. Because the striker and guide is NOT there to move the door into position and make it correct...they are there to HOLD what you have set in how the door is adjusted....which is why the ring that spun on your old striker makes a huge difference in holding the door.
