You should look into the book written by M.F. Donbins for shark cars and buying the NCRS judging Manual for 68.

Edit: There is a book "Corvette Chassis Restoration Guide 1953 through 1972" by Joseph A. Tripoli Jr. that has more details on the frame markings also.
