Correct Air Filter Element
My 72 has the stock duel snorkel air cleaner and I'm not sure it has the right filter in it to seal properly. The one in it doesn't seem to fit right for diameter and height. It doesn't fit solid in the grooves in the bottom of the tub and measures 2 1/8 inches tall . Not sure what the height should be to seal. ( It looks close ) When the auto parts brings out the right number it is way too tall . Anybody know what the correct number is ?

I believe the original air filter for your dual snorkel air cleaner was an AC A329C.
The original was 12" wide and 2-3/8" high. The diameter of the inner opening is 9-3/4".
Various venders sell replacement 329 air filters filters of that size.
ZIP for instance shows part number... AC-98 for the closed base air cleaner.

Thanks Jim , I'll check with auto parts to see what they have as a replacement for that number and go from there . My car is not total original so any replacement filter that fits will work. We can save the correct parts for the people that need all numbers matching. Thanks again. Bj
