Default 1968 corvette value?

How much is a 1968 coupe worth. Family owned car for past 30 plus years. Was wondering value if I should sale whole or part out.
Complete front clip missing. Solid frame, big block 427 auto. (Gone.... Uncle used in a chevelle)
It has telescopic steering column, complete car except for front clip, motor n trans. With clear title....
Any opinions?
It had power steering and power brakes. No air though..
Rough interior but there.

Hi N2,
Welcome !
First Post!
This thread should really go to the General Forum. A moderator will move it.
What is the actual condition of the frame and birdcage regarding rust? Has it been sitting outside in the dirt for a long time?
That will likely have an impact on whether or not this 68 will ever be a car again or will just supply parts for other cars.
Regards,
Alan

If the fframe is rusty the parts will get you a few bucks. Especially if its an original interior. The chrome bumpers are pricey too.

not an easy or fast deal to part out. time and 1 million emails to part out.
a car in this condition is very difficult to disassemble, everything is rusted.
if you have the time and skills, to disassemble then restore it.
no engine, no front clip, no radiator/support min. interior, everything else will need restored.
I would sell it whole as a project, ball park figure 3k depends how fast you want to move it.
it takes me about 3 years to restore a car in this condition, and tons of money and time.
advertise as project in the C3 parts, or cars for sale section.

Do you know if it is early or late 68?
With title and reasonably clean frame and interior I look at rear end see if u bolts or strap clamps at differential side yoke I think somewhere $5 to$7

Do you have a clear title in hand? If not, I would only sell it piece by piece or whole as a parts car. Neither is an easy sale. As most have said above, parting it out is time consuming and tedious but will probably get you the most money. Since it looks on surface to be in decent condition, it looks like a candidate for a sale whole as a parts car. While it is a 68, I doubt you'd get more than $2k for it and it would take a while to sell.

That ad makes it sound quite appealing?

Just messing with ya!

Guess when the garage gets done we can restore that old vette outside?

I'm located in Kentucky. I have a 69 corverible that I drive. I thought I couldn't go wrong buying this one for parts. But I didn't realize how much
of the 68 was one year only parts.
And to answer question bout the rearend it does not have u bolts on it. It's metal caps with bolts. And it's late 68
If I decide to part it out.... What are the most sought after parts?
Tele steering column?
Pop out rear glass?
Rear glass holder ?
I mean I seriously don't know what to start with

There is another thread going on right now talking about 68 only parts:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...fferences.html

Presumably, you should start with the unique parts and go from there.

Don't let people kid you about what this car is worth especially if there is a title I would be glad to evaluate it no charge if you need assistants.
Frame value $1000
Doors $250 wack
Rear window $300
Rear clip $1200
Rear diff. $850
Steering column $450
Seats $200 each
Gauge cluster and center dash $650
Just to list a few items
Looks like more than$1 to 2k

Possibly. One year only, hard to find, and expensive when you run across one.

If you have the space, time and patience for dealing with cheapskates and flakes maybe parting outs an option. Cant stomach it myself.
Sometimes shipping cost takes selling some parts out of the equation

I thought there was no tele column in '68. Key switch on column or dash?

I live in Paintsville, Ky

Yes the car has the original telescopic steering column. Key on the dash. I'm also assuming it's a late 68 but could be wrong. Would appreciate the help. I have a 69 convertible that I'm working on. I don't know what parts will interchange and what's won't .
