Default Just a Note to Say Hello

I haven't been out much this summer owing to illness. But I did get out today for a couple of hours. Nice day: about 80*F and sunny. The summer is slipping by so quickly!

This pic is a bit morbid. It was a trip to the resting place of my Wife's Mother and Father. The graves are well kept and the usual weeding, replanting, and watering was done.

Hi Paul,
Good to hear you're out and about!
I believe I remember your visit to the cemetery during past Summers.
Days, weeks, and even months going by very rapidly now!
Regards,
Alan

We're saying a prayer of health for you and your wife. It's good that you take a drive whenever you can (and post the pics ). The pic isn't morbid with your car in it.......besides....all your loved ones will renewed one Day (per Jesus Christ).

Thanks doorgunner. I did get out a week ago to a country fair rib-fest about 60 miles away. D*** it was hot. But the 1974 chugged along at 180*F. A little early in the day for ribs so I munched on french fries.

I have been pretty happy with this car since the TH400 went bonkers in June 2015 coming back from one of my ice cream runs. Thankfully I was about 10 minutes from home and the one gear (slipping) left got me there. I was pretty discouraged at that time. But the TH400 was completely re-done: it is all new. A wee bit expensive but good for another 100,000 miles that I will not see.

Paul, your car looks great despite the morbidity of the setting. Glad you're out driving and hope you feel better. As the saying goes, all roads lead to the cemetery but we have many more miles left in us, hopefully.

You just never know when your time will come. So drive and enjoy your Tupperware car.

*Edit* - I had a nice meal of ribs and asparagus this evening. And white wine. Great for the cholesterol but once in a while why not?

Paul,
I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.
I was going to take out my 68 this week if it ever stops raining.
Oh I forgot I got doctors appointments all week.
I think I'm getting ready for a frame off restoration.

Seems the warranty expired just over 50.
Be well enjoy the moments we have.
I've learned yesterday is history and tomorrow will worry about itself.
Prayer has been very refreshing for me as well.
Always enjoyed your photos.
My father went to be with the Lord last October.
My wife and I only have our children and siblings now.
My Dad never saw my corvette, but I think he would have liked it
if he did.

Hi Paul;
Did not know you were ill, so very glad that you are up and about. Car still looks great as usual . I envy those of you that can drive your cars this time of year, mine is in storage for the summer, just too hot here in the desert, looking forward to fall. Take care.

The car looks great, Paul. Putting the top down on a sports car on a summer day is a unique joy. Glad you were able to have some fun and hope you feel better.

Hey Paul! Sorry to hear about the health problems, but happy to hear you are getting the car out again. As always, it looks great!

Working overseas and electrical problems kept my 'vette off the road the second half of '14 and most of '15, but I have been enjoying it again this year.

I have often thought about taking a longer cruise to the resting place of my parents and brother, probably about a 140 mile round trip. I don't think it is morbid, maybe helps you focus on the good times you had with your loved ones.

Yes, Alan. The Wife and I do tend the graves at regular intervals. Even in the winter snow. She has a passion for respecting those who brought us into this world. And left us suddenly. That 'phone call in the middle of the night....I have had a few.

I know all about the middle of the night phone calls .

On a brighter note , good to,see the Corvette out .

I keep mine around and drive much as practical. If nothing else, It reminds me of better days just walking by it in the garage.

You lit up the cemetery with the 74 Roadster!
My Dad (92) and I (63) visit my Mom and brother every Sunday in Santa Clara.
My wife Sue and I visit her parents in beautiful San Diego a couple of times per year.
It is odd to me how empty cemeteries are...

Hey Alan!

I believe that was the fall of 2009, so your memory is still excellent! My daughter took a bunch, and got some great ones.

Good to see you are still posting!
