So does one clip go on each side ?
I noticed the clips I have , one side of it has teeth. Does that side go to the insert side?

Next stumbling block. Attempted to place the glove box liner in car and it wouldn't fit. So I too it off rear compartment and tried to fit it by itself . It seems to not fit. There seems to be a a small body support in the way of the insert going all the way. This is support is toward the front of the car. My insert even has a small cut out possibly for it but it's off centered and to small. I tried to take a picture of it and was wondering if anyone had to cut there insert to fit?
Thanks jim

Hi x,
Is the liner far enough back?

Regards,
Alan

The rear of the liner in my 71.
Note the imprint of the hinge fasteners.

Poor pictures from the jack compartment side looking at the position of the front of the liner. They were taken to show the bolt for the parking brake console. If you need something better let me know!

I'll go back in and check I had to take a break and grab a beer at the local pub. At least I know that I shouldn't start cutting the insert yet.
Can I dry run the insert without having it on the rear tray? It didn't seem to fit well for me.

Hi x,
I guess you can.
I'd try to put the liner in the plastic surround positioning it as far to the back as possible and the slide the surround in place to see if the interference is still at it's front.
Regards,
Alan

The liner needs to go in before the compartment lids go on. As Alan illustrated the hinge screws go through the liner.

I just logged on to finally post that I did get this center compartment in. The trick was the rear flap on the cardboard needs to be bent forward on its crease so it doesn't stick up to high. It kinda follows the contour of the metal in the compartment.
