Finally bought one.
Some of you may have seen my threads on Vettes I was considering, and one of them followed me home.
Short story a Corvette has been #1 on my car list every since I had some toy versions and stickers as a little kid in the 70s. I think it took me this long to actually get one because I always get sidetracked by inexpensive cool cars that make their way into my collection, but this time I was on a mission and here we are now.
I bought this from an older gentleman who has enough health issues going on that it was hard for him to drive it and it was just sitting. It looks like he put it up for sale right before rodents did anything significantly bad to it and as a result it mostly needs cleaning and replacement of hoses and belts (belt is why there is a picture of it dead on the road). Lucky for me he did have a shop go through the brakes in preparation for the sale, I will double check the work since they don't seem as strong as posts here indicate they should be but I see the new parts so I know he isn't BSing. Anyway more details later, lets see if I can load up some pics.

Hi s,
If you were able to buy it for a good price it looks like it may be a nice car for you.
If you and the pooch are BOTH happy, all is well!
It looks like the kind of car that can be improved with some TLC!
Did you check it out for rust?
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Thanks! Yes I checked it out for rust as well as I can and I'm okay with what I paid. Definitely what it needs more than anything is elbow grease, and lots of it. It seems other than the high beam switch and AC that everything works, even the factory alarm which surprised me.

Be very careful. Buying these things will become contagious. Like a Lays potato chip, you can't have just one. best of luck with the cool car. congrats. Ken

elbow grease and a silver leaf pen from a craft shop will really help the interior. Degreaser and a can of black spray paint will help the engine bay... and of course the ever necessary patience...
Have fun and enjoy. by the way, pull the seats and just scrub the carpets. you will be happy

How close will a silver leaf pen get me to the factory look on the center console?
