Hi b,
Personally I don't like to see extremely pitted exhaust manifolds on engines but without seeing what you're looking it's difficult to advise you to buy them or not.
Here's a link to an interesting article by John Hinkley… member JohnZ.

Hi b,
People have been assembling information about 68-72 cars for 45+ years so there's a tremendous amount of detail available from many sources.

...'K19' would be November 19th and 'L1' would be December 1st...
What is the engine assembly date for you car? It's stamped on the engine pad and will include the suffix code. K19 and L1 could be fine for you provided your engine was assembled on or after December 1. Keep in mind, your engine was ordered, assembled in Flint, shipped to St. Louis, and stockpiled before assembly of your car was begun.
