Default Missing flywheel cover

So we recently bought a 74 waiting to be put back together. Essentially 90% of engine bay was out and as we are putting everything back in we are having to hunt down random no or parts and bolts. That's the fun part right? The problem I'm having right now is finding a flywheel cover for the muncie m21 4 speed that came with it. I don't know if I can use a universal gm one from summit, or if I need a specific fit for the muncie.

Anyone have any experience of knowledge they can pass my way so we can keep working towards getting the 74 on the road?

Try Paragon. They stock almost everything you will need.

Or you can get an original piece salvaged from wrecked vehicles. There are several such places in the southwest (AZ, NM, NV). Google "Corvette salvaged parts" to find them. Most have an 800 number to call for info.

Default still lost

The issue im running into i'm only finding inspection covers and flywheel dust covers for TH350 and TH400 and the like, all automatics. I would prefer to get one online before i start digging through wrecking yards. I know i cant search for a muncie cover, but im not finding an option for manuals at all.

Any help is appreciated, and thanks for all the help so far. still searching under different keywords

If you find one be sure to engage the little tabs in the center area. Otherwise you can get some pretty interesting noises. A quick search for images of small block chevy flywheel covers showed lots of pictures of what this should look like.

I find alot of pictures of what i assume it should look like, very similar to what i have on my honda. i'm just concerned since all the sites i find specify the cover is for automatic transmissions. I didnt know if the cover was different for automatic and manuals, and apparently it is so now im paranoid to try out one of these "universal" or year specific ones that specify automatic trannys.

Looks like all manual transmission inspection plates were the same (Chevy V8's) from 1966-1974.

I missed the part about it being a manual. In that case there is three diffreant designs of the manual one. Make sure you get to right one

My inspection cover does not require the starter to be removed to removed/install the cover. It's open at the top of the hole.

It's not been modified and came with the car. I did a Google search and have not found one like it.

Does anyone know what years this type was used ?

Thanks
