We have Castle Doctrine here in Texas as well. Didn't do me any good when I was attacked by three illegals back during the Clinton era. I even had to pay for there interpreter as I was railroaded. On the other hand, John Horn was treated fairly...

Go to a sporting goods store and get a game camera. (around $100) they have an infrared flash which can not be seen and shoot in bursts set off by motion and mounts anywhere like in a tree so you should be able to get a good picture of who it is and get this freak off the streets.
For now & until next spring all my vehicles are in storage or my garage.

Make a police report to the local police..ask IF there have been other reports of thefts from cars, stolen cars..etc reported..
Also ask them IF they can put your condo parking complex on their 'beat book' for semi routine patrol..once you park the cars back there in the spring..
You may think that's old fashioned..but Dearborn Heights PD Does care;..ex LEO who still trusts leos to help and do well..But IF such insignificant issues are not reported..They may never know..That way IF you do install a game camera..you'll have a report on file and perhaps some pictorial evidence that will enable the would be tire jackers or thieves to be caught & prosecuted..Jim

Whatever you do, DON'T do that! You will have enough of a mess on your hands legally for defending yourself and your property in today's liberal gun hating politically correct society, definitely don't want to tamper with a "crime" scene. The thief being the criminal in our eyes; the thief's lawyer may see it very differently. Don't ask how I know.
