Default Bubba's Handi-work

Ever since my wrenchin' days back in the 70's, I always took pride in my engine building abilities. I used to say I would never trust an engine that I did not build. Time and time again, I am forced to deal with Bubba's handi-work. The PO said the engine was professionally built. Since the oil needed to be changed and the oilpan looked a bit rough, I decided to change the oil pan out today. And what do I find...

I guess welding lessons are in order.

At least your oil never ran low. Would have been exciting if you did a lot of auto crossing. You wonder how many pickups are banging around the bottom of SBC oil pans.

Just another example of bad design by GM. Bubba working at GM must have thought it was a good idea to tack weld the pickup instead of a threaded nut design like many of the older cars .
