I'm sorry fellas (and those that dont pee standing up) but I just dont understand this obsession with cupholders, and forcing them into tight spaces, guess I'm getting too old
A cup holder is used to hold a cup or drink so one can have some refreshment close by. It's nice on a long trip, then the only reasons to stop are to get fuel, or pee, however one chooses to accomplish that. If this explanation doesn't clear up your confusion, perhaps some others will try. Having a cup holder doesn't mean you have to pee a certain way, it's not for peeing in.

To each is own. And the next time I **** you can come and hold it for me, I **** standing up BTW.

Why do some have to come into threads like this just to make dumbass comments and bash? We get it, you don't like cup holders and think those that do are pussies. Nobodys making you click. Just remember this topic the next time you spill your drink all over yourself and your interior.
Wow, Anger issues much? Maybe you should drink more. I was making a reference to back in the day when we did not have cup holders and had to figure out what to do with our Dr Pepper or beer or whatever. Sorry I offended you.
No offense taken and I'm not angry. Just because you or others don't like cup holders doesn' t mean you have to bash on it. I was born in '63 so I'm old enough to know what you're talking about. The one thing I've never done is drink alcohol and/then drive though. I will bash on that because the life you take may be mine or a family member.
This thread is about cup holders. I'm done with the stupid *** replys and will just ignore them from here forward. If theres nothing constructive to add start a cup holder bashing thread. Please reserve this one for people that want to see what others have done to make their lives easier and enjoy their cars more.
Thanks
I ordered the cup holder that screws into the E-brake console. I will make any changes needed using PVC to make this work. The wife and I like to cruise around with a drink in hand. We drive to the beach during the summer time and a 2 hour drive in the heat will require some sort of refreshment. Once in a while, I like driving the vette to work @ zero dark 30 with my coffee in hand. I have spilled my coffee before and it won't happen again.

Check the cups you use regularly to see if they fit the inserts but the inserts are only as big as a can of soda. So far I like mine. Driving to the beach was one reason I wanted one. Our drive is a bit longer, about 6 hours. I'm also using my Vette as my DD right now and it's just better with the cup holders and driving in traffic shifting.

I just got my cup holder and you were right! The inserts will not work with my coffee mugs or a koozie over a soda can. I will look into making my own inserts out of PVC.
Looks like these just lay over the console, for 68-76.
Sorry for the lousy pic.
I looked at that one when trying to decided what to do but in the end it looks like something dear old Grandma puts over her sofa.
It also doesn't look like it would hold the cup I posted in the op.
Cup holders in c3s?!?!
Do you find them in the Isle next to seat warmers and lighten vanity mirrors?
Okay, just funning with you, i made a custom one for my dd 81, i like big gulps and the holder was on that lid behind the passenger, and that storage well was a cooler.
But my 66 dd had this the good people of toxic hell ( taco bell ) gave me,
It fits a pretty big cup, i have a few stashed away, seems they will disappear from a convertible....
