Anyone have the cup holder that slips over the e-brake lever? My car just became my almost daily driver (son just turned 16 and is using my normal daily driver more and more).
How secure is it? It seems your leg would hit it all the time and knock it off. Will it hold a 24oz. Tervis cup like this which is my daily driver cup :
I have had both and prefer the one that screws down. Gets the drinks lower and don't have to move them to use the brake. One thing about it tho is it has inserts that make it the size of the above photo and the are sized for cans. A bottle of water or cup like your photo probably won't fit. If you remove the inserts then it's too big to hold those items securely. So what I did was take some pvc pipe and cut some extensions. Painted them black, they slip right into the holder and are tall enough to hold bottles or cups. EBrake still works and very accessible.

Got any photos of your work? Sounds like a good plan.

The pipe is 3 1/2" o.d. pvc and is 3" long. This is "Mark 2" lol. The first ones were only as tall as.the holder but I thought the drinks were still a little tippy.
Will a "Yeti" style 30 oz stainless tumbler fit in that modified cupholder? Seems like it would, as I modified the factory cupholder in my Ranger with some 3" (3-1/2" O.D.) PVC pipe.

I would think so then. That was 3 1/2" o.d. I don't have a yeti to check it.
Get the one that bolts to the center console. It doesn't move.
I have one like is pictured above..It works great and the interior is easily removed to accomodae a wider cup bottom if necessary..I never screwed mine onto the ls/rs consoled carpeted panels(1978 SA)it doesn't move..unless you want to remove it..I bought one of the padded arm rests that lays between the seat sides on the console rear cover.Even with a taller travel mug it isn't in the way..My car is an automatic..Jim
I have the cup holder pictured and it also is not screwed down. I have had no problems with it, and regularly put a Big Gulp sized cup in the car. No issues.
