Default Upper door hinge adjustment

Wow - I need to adjust my doors to fit a little better but I can't even see or feel the upper hinge to body bolts. Is there a trick to the uppers?

They're there. You will need to remove the entire dash to get access.

Hi 68,
As R said, left and right dash pads need to come off… difficult on the left side easy on the right.
The hinge bolts are accessed through 'slots' in the hinge pillars.
Regards,
Alan

Left Side.

Right side.

Dang. Looks like I have some work to do...

My pass side door is sitting low by about 1/4" front and back. The angle is good, front to back is good, and rotation is good so only needs to move straight up, but when I got inside the door the adjustment is already as far up as it will go. So my plan was to move the hinges up at the pillars.

Hi 68,
The right side upper bolts are by far the easiest to gain access to!
You're lucky!

Alan

For what this is worth....I prefer you not messing with the hinges at the hinge post.

The door hinges work like this. The hinge where it mounts to the hinge post allows the front to back movement of the door. The hinge where it bolts to the door is the up and down.

SO..all you need to do is loosen the bolts on the door...and raise the door.

Sent you a PM.

Just found all that out the hard way......I need to rebuild the hinge anyway so nothing really lost. We all know too well that upper pin won't come out intact.

Don't know why my door was slightly too low with all the upward travel used. I may have to die grind a bit
