Had the original fuel pump from my 1971 LT-1 rebuilt. Works great--only problem is a very small leak at the base of the nipple where the fuel line attaches. Any suggestions on what to use to seal the leak.
It's NOT the connection that leaks. It is the area where the square connector at the top of the fuel pump connects to the fuel pump body. There is a seam around its base where the leak is. Will JB weld work?

I would not trust JB weld on your fuel pump..
Purchase a new pump and don't take the chance of a future leak.
I don't think a proper repair of your pump would be cost effective ...
Just my opinion .. maybe others have had the same experience.
Hi w,
Last time I talked to Gould they were 'getting ready' to start restoring 'crimped bowl' fuel pumps.
It would certainly be a good thing if they have finally begun!
Please post what you find out!
