Default Component Question

1969 corvette L46 with AC

Could someone tell me the function of the brown cylindrical component.

It looks like it could be a condensor but not sure.

Also, where is it attached? Maybe someone could send me a photo?

Thanks for your help.

Hi b,
When a car was ordered with the optional radio that condenser was added at the brake light switch so the triggering of the switch wouldn't be heard in the radio.
Yours appears to have had some 'work' done on it after your car left St.Lous.
Regards,
Alan

Hi b,
Believe it or not it was TAPED to the wiring harness.
The tape to be used had a part number (3724851) AND 10" was to be used!!!!
Regards,
Alan

There is a strap around the condenser which leads me to believe in my case that it was mechanically attached to something?? I'm the original owner and I didn't add that condenser.
