Default ac control unit attachment

1969 corvette L46 with AC

I'm now in the process of installing my center console..

I'm looking at the AC control unit and puzzled as far as how it attaches to the console.

I've attached a couple of photos..

One is of the unit .. it shows a couple of flanges with holes for what it would appear to be attachment points..

The other photo shows the underside of the console.. there doesn't seem to be any interface for the unit...

What am I missing? Can someone help?
Thanks for your help

Hi b,
It is screwed to a 'frame' that attaches to the shifter console itself below the shifter plate.
The opening in the plate then settles down around the controller.
Regards,
Alan

This is for a non a/c car but the frame is still there.

Ugh! You'll find one at a salvaged parts place or a Corvette swap meet. Don't think there are any repops on that part. Someone on the Forum might have one stashed in some corner of their garage....

Hey Alan .. What type of fastener is used to attach the control unit to the frame... the frame is not threaded.. right? I'm most concerned with the forward most interface.

Hi b,
The controller mounts to the frame using 2 very small flat head, counter sunk, phillips drive fine thread machine screws.
Regards,
Alan

If your frame holes are stripped you could put nuts on the screws.
