Default Delco Remy Starter Question

Is a starter number 1108759, 7 F 13. 1
a 1967 or 1977 starter.
It came on my 68 427 4spd car.
I have a mini torque starter now.
Thank you,
Marshal

Hi marshal,
I may be missing something but I don't see the 1108759 starter listed as being used on bb Corvette engines up through the 1972 model year production.
Perhaps someone familiar with 68 bb cars will know for sure.
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan,
I wasn't sure.
It was on the car when I purchased it.
Have a Late 67 CE block made me curious if the starter was a 67 or 77 part number?

Hi marshal,
I looked at the Starter Section the NCRS Specification Guide and didn't see it.
Because they're all listed, from 53 through 72, it appears that the numbers didn't get beyond ….8438 through 72 production.
Regards,
Alan

What's on the pad of your CE engine?

Alan,
The block has CE852469 on the pad.
It's a 321 block.
From memory the casting date is a 7 and the month looks like an I ? There is a day too just to cold in the garage now to crawl under the front end.
Looks like a replacement starter. Probably a core rebuild.

Hi Marshal,
Thanks!
I'm trying to learn a little about CE blocks and the stamps on them.
It appears it's one of those things that at this point remains somewhat of a mystery….. except perhaps that the first digit may be the calendar year the block was produced in.
Stay where it's warm!
Regards,
Alan

A 427 0r 396 uses the same end frames.....cast iron not aluminum.,,,...What you can do with out trying to match numbers is change the end frames if they are not the same, the housings internal parts are the same ......
