hi guys,i normally hang out on the c2 site, but i found a 1970 roadster that is complete from the doors back int included no drive train for sale. im not sure if it was a BB or SB yet..what would be a value of this? i was thinking of making just a hot rod out of it.. i am gonna look at it today and would like an idea.. please give your thoughts thanks
Hi 20,
With that amount of information and no photo of what it actually is…. just a guess;
Rust in the cowl…$0
No Rust….$1000
Even making this into a hotrod will require $ because of what you'll need to buy to make it a car again
Regards,
Alan
There was no difference in the body from the doors back in a sb or bb car.
Could be a fun project if it is cheap enough but keep in mind that corvette parts are expensive so just considering that you will have to start with having to buy a complete front end including all of the headlight parts , that will be some bucks right there. You didn't mention if it has a good frame and birdcage. The frames tend to rust just behind the doors. Are the brakes complete and operable , also an expense not to be overlooked. Is there a good title ? Do your research and make up a sheet with what you expect in parts cost . Many things to consider !
Think about it's value after the resto is finished.
front clip glass 2500
engine and trans 5000
trailing arms(if needed-probably) 1000
interior 2500
paint (DIY) 1500
paint (by others) 4-6000
gauges, wiring harness 1500
headlights 800
bumpers and grills (driver) 1000
wiper mechanism and parts 500
new soft top (DIY) 500
stuff I can't account for 3000
2 years free labor
cost of presents to keep wife/girlfriend happy ????
add it up and see if you really want this project
