Default Accelerator cable pictures needed.

I need a few pictures of how the accelerator cable was installed on a BB Holley. Or how you did it. My car is a 72.

Hi 540,
The throttle cable comes through a fitting on the firewall, is held in position by a small bracket on the left rear stud of the carburetor, and the end of the cable clips onto the carb linkage.
This is a 350/Q-Jet but the cable is the same for the Holley big block and the bracket is similar.
Regards,
Alan

Thank you for asking for those pictures. I hoped Alan would chime in. I am doing the same on a small block. Would you have any pictures of the gas pedal setup?
Thanks

From photos in my collection, I believe that the accelerator cable should be routed UNDER the vacuum hoses. A'71 photo shows over. As said, using only one example for your study isn't enough......

Thanks Alan. I just wanted to see what the bracket looked like mounted. I bought one on E Bay yesterday for a Holley.

Just a little advise. I have the same bracket for my Holley clone and it would twist sideways and actually started bending the tab.

I didn't want to tighten it with so much force as the bend the housing so I added a star washer underneath it. Now it stays in place.

Hi dd,
I don't know if you're referring to the bracket moving under the carb mounting nut or not.
The original q-jet bracket has a small stud that extends slightly below the bracket's underside and seats in a hole in the carb base plate. This stud prevents the bracket from moving (spinning on the nut).
Regards,
Alan

It's a little different on the Holley one.

There is a down tab at the front to fit's in a hole. You can see mine bent and I tried to fix it with the blue plastic. I ordered a new one and uses a star washer and it stays in place now.

O.K. lets turn it around and lets see your fuel line setup. Holley big block. The one I have needs to get a little bend in it to clear the intake bolt and the line seems to get in the way of the heater hose.

Here's mine, looking down from the fender it attaches to the fuel pump at the 8 o'clock position.

LS6 line on top that I cut and flared to meet the Q-jet Filter and line.

Of course you could just go all the way to the pump.
